M Prasannan

Midfielder (1968-1972)
International

Prasannan played for just a few years for Dempo but that should not detract from his quality and contribution. Arriving in Goa from Kerala, the central midfielder was a highly influential player with tremendous ball skills and an overflowing bag of tricks. He could control the tempo of the game and also flummox the best of defences with his immaculate distribution and passing. In the early 1970s, Prasannan left Dempo for Central Bank of India, Mumbai, and remained with them till the end of his career despite offers from the big Calcutta clubs. Prasannan represented Kerala, Goa and Maharashtra in the Santosh Trophy and was also part of the national selection for the Merdeka Cup in 1973. The Malayali later completed the NIS course and coached several teams thereafter.
