Story So Far:
3 games played 1 Win, 1 Draw & 1 Loss.
The Eagles will head into Saturday’s game against Churchill Brothers FC knowing that a win is of the utmost importance if they want to challenge for the title. With Churchill Brothers FC not being able to find their footing so far this campaign and the Eagles looking to get back to winning ways, Saturday’s matchup in the Goa Professional League should set up nicely for the neutrals, as both teams will look to dictate play and grab all the points on offer.
Opposition:
Currently sitting in 9th position on the Selvel Goa Professional League standings, the defending champions Churchill Brothers SC have not had the best of starts to the campaign. With 7 goals scored against them and only 1 scored by the team, the Red Machines have been wasteful with their opportunities in front of the goal and will be looking to change that statistic against a Dempo side, still in the running for the title.
With the gap between Dempo & Churchill only one point, a win for either team could drastically change their respective seasons, as the Eagles will look to get back to winning ways after their disappointing outing against FC Goa, last time out.
Churchill Brothers currently sits in 9th Place with 3 Points, while Dempo Sports Club sits in 6th Place with 4 Points.
Player To Watch:
Gaurav Vaingankar: Back from a Calf injury that saw him miss out the last game against Fc Goa as well as the Second half against Guardian Angel Sports Club, Gaurav will bring back much stability to the defensive line as he slots back into the preferred Right Back position. Equally Capable in the attacking third of the pitch, his crosses and late runs into the box from the right-wing will provide another avenue for the Eagles to capitalize and score.
Number Game:
7 – The Number of Goals Scored by Dempo Sports Club so far this season, 2nd in the League.
5 – The Number of different Goal Scorers for the Club so far this season.
2.33 – Average Goals scored per game so far this season, 2nd most in the League
2 – Goals scored by top scorer Uttam Rai so far this season, Joint 2nd in the League.
