Stafford Challenge Cup 1975

Rain forced the abandonment of the final 40 minutes after kick off and left everything in a limbo. A few days later, the Sree Kanteerava Stadium turf in Bangalore was however declared fit for play. Dempo dominated the game and it was only fine goalkeeping by Shekhar Bangera that saved Orkay Mills — winners in 1972 and 1974 – the blushes. The teams finished goalless and shared the trophy. Captain Ramesh Redkar (left) won the toss and earned the right to keep it for the first six months.
