DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

The goal is to develop players that will meet the challenges of modern football globally and the process is guided by a LTPD (Long Term Player Development) strategy and supported by a curriculum. The LTPD is sub-divided into four development phases. Namely, learning to Train U12's), Training to Train (U14's), Training to Compete (U16's) and Training to Win (U18 and above).

The batch of boys that we have recruited for the residential Academy are currently in the "Training to Train" phase and the programme revolves around a collapsible time-table with a weekly training duration of 10 hours.

The U16 squad is in the "Training to Compete" phase of their development, which is the consolidating stage of the "Performance Factors", the training regime is increased and the introduction into complex individual, group and team tactics takes centre stage of their growth. The content in respect of the LTPD indicates stabilization of the proficiency and individualization of basic techniques (skills) as well as football technical and tactics under competitive conditions at high intensity. This squad currently competes in the AIFF I-League and the GFA League Competitions and at the time of writing are unbeaten in both competitions.

The batch of boys that we have recruited for the residential Academy are currently in the "Training to Train" phase and the programme revolves around a collapsible time-table with a weekly training duration of 10 hours.

At this level the main focus is to sharpen technique as a priority and the introduction of basic tactics that is complemented by developing endurance, agility, quickness, balance and coordination. The mental factor is also seen as an important component in their growth in inducing the football brain in decision making, confidence, self-belief, concentration and leadership.

The method of training is known as the "Maximal Training" which encompasses the Performance Factors I.e. Technique, Tactics, Conditioning and Psychology, in essence it is the "game method" of development. The sessions are conducted with two of the five Coaching Principles imposed by the Technical Director, training must reflect the specific of game, meaning the ball is central and addressing individual player's needs.

Weekly Micro-Cycles, supported by plans and the intensity of the sessions set by the Head Coach is reviewed by the Technical Director for approval and daily discussions on the evaluation of the sessions are conducted with the Technical Staff.

Nutrition is also an important supporting component in our quest, hence a leading Nutritionist designed 15 daily meal plans to coincide with the training loads and match day effort expenditure and replenish accordingly.

Testing is conducted quarterly by the Physio with clinical tests twice per annum, both essential to the development process.

Monthly assessments on performance is conducted by the Head Coach and scrutinized by the Technical Director which is relevant to the progress of the individual and also guides the Technical Staff in addressing the weaknesses that can be improved.

Match Reports and Analysis are also produced to evaluate and address the negatives and how they can be addressed by the Technical Team.

The Philosophy and style of play remains the identity of the legendary Dempo teams, that played short passing, attractive and attacking football that made the Dempo brand of football an household name in Asia, we want to continue in this vein.

Quality of performance is more important than winning, winning by sacrificing football development is not on our table.
