Story So Far:

Currently sitting in second with 14 points after 8 games. The Eagles are only 3 points behind league leaders, Salgaocar FC who have amassed a total of 17 points in 7 games.

With a three-zero win last time out, the Eagles will be high on confidence and will know that a win tomorrow would pile on even more pressure on Salgaocar FC at the top of the table. With Captain & Top Goal Scorer Beevan D’Mello back to match fitness after picking up a minor injury, he will be expected to make the line-up tomorrow after returning to the side in the last outing with a goal in his 10-minute cameo.

Out due to a suspension & Injury respectively, Kirtikesh Gadekar & Gaurav Vaigankar will miss the game on Wednesday.

Opposition:

Just one point separating both the teams, Vasco Sports Club has truly had a tremendous season so far!

Having played 8, Won 4, Drawn 1 & Lost 3, the port towners will look to tomorrow’s game as a chance to leapfrog the likes of Dempo Sports Club, Sporting Clube De Goa & Calangute Association and go from 5th place in the table to 2nd  overnight.

With the Vasco SC squad fielding a few former Dempo Sports Club players in their line-up, tomorrow’s match may just spring a few surprises with both teams wanting and needing to prove a point to stay in the running for the title.

Player To Watch:

Melroy Fernandes: Having joined the Eagles from Sporting Club De Goa, Melroy has taken to his role at Dempo like a fish to water!

Supremely confident & Vocal on the pitch, the shot-stopper has earned three clean sheets so far in the campaign and has also contributed to the side being the 3rd best defensive team in the campaign.

Down to 10 men in the last game against Youth Club of Manora, it was his heroics that helped the Eagles to emerge victorious over the 90 minutes, pulling save after save and using his positional ability & judgment to safely deter any attack thrown at the Dempo backline!
