Story So Far:

Sitting in third, leveled in points with Salgaocar FC, the boys find themselves right in the mix of things, having amassed a total of 17 points in 9 games of the Selvel Goa Professional League!

Registering a hard-fought one-zero victory against Vasco Sports Club in their last outing, the boys will now face Sporting Clube De Goa, in a huge three-pointer clash that could prove to be the decisive match for the title!  High on confidence after winning consecutive matches for the first time in the league this season, the Eagles will be boosted by the return of Kritikesh Gadekar, back in the lineup after serving a one-match suspension, and Bevan D’Mello who will be back to match fitness after nursing a minor injury.

Gaurav Vaugankar – out due to injury – will be the only notable absentee from the Dempo Squad, as the team returns to action on Wednesday!

Opposition:

Just two points separating both the teams at this stage of the competition, tomorrow’s match against Sporting Clube De Goa will prove to be the decisive encounter for both the participants, given their title aspirations!

With two games to go and leading the pack with 19 points in 9 games, defending champions, Sporting Clube De Goa, are the League’s table toppers, with Salgoacar and Dempo Sports Club,  both of whom are tied with 17 points each, are still very much in the reckoning of things and a chance at Silverware.

Having yet to lose a game this season, A win for Sporting would put them in touching distance of the title but a win for Dempo followed by any hiccup from Salgaocar FC would sway the pendulum in the Eagles favor!

With both teams topping the charts and tied for the most goals scored in the competition, the added stakes and their history will only make the clash even more of a spectacle!

Player To Watch:

Desmon Perreira: Having missed out on a significant part of the campaign due to injuries, the tricky midfielder is finally back to his very best and the results are there for all to see!

Devastating in his last game against Vasco Sports Club, the young lad, groomed through the Dempo Youth System displayed several moments of brilliance throughout the game and even popped up with the winning header late on, just as the Eagles were hoping for some kind of inspiration on the field to give them an edge in the clash!

Available from the start once again, the Dempo youth product will be hoping to deliver once again for the shirt and the coach, both of which he knows much about!
